Agreeing to these terms

The House of Taste is run by Hetal Vanmali in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. By using this website or ordering our book, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

Using the website

You may browse the site, read and cook our recipes, and contact us for your own personal use. You agree not to:

• Use the site for anything unlawful or to harm others

• Try to break, overload or gain unauthorized access to the site or its accounts

• Send spam or false information through our forms

• Copy the site’s content in bulk, for example with automated tools

Recipes, photos and ownership

The recipes, photographs, text, logo and design on this site, and the contents of The Gratitude Table, belong to The House of Taste and are protected by copyright. All rights are reserved.

You are welcome to cook our recipes and share a link to a recipe page. You may share a single photo with credit to The House of Taste and a link back to the page it came from. You may not republish a full recipe, copy our photographs, or use any content commercially, including for your own website, products or paid classes, without our written permission.

To ask for permission or a licence, contact us using the details below.

Ordering The Gratitude Table

Price. The price of The Gratitude Table is $35.00 CAD per copy, including shipping within Canada. The price is shown on the order page before you submit the form.

How to order. Complete the online order form. Online orders are available within Canada only. Submitting the form is a request to buy, not a confirmed order. After you submit, the details for sending your Interac e-Transfer appear on screen.

Payment. Please send the e-Transfer to our email within 48 hours and include your full name in the message. Your order is confirmed when we receive payment, and we will email you to say so. If we have not received payment within 48 hours, we will send you a reminder, and if payment still does not arrive, we may cancel the order. We will announce online card payments on this site when they are available, and these terms will then be updated.

Delivery. Once we receive your payment, we ship your book by Canada Post to your address in Canada as soon as possible.

Returns and refunds. Please contact us if your book arrives damaged. Your rights under Alberta consumer protection law are not affected by these terms.

Comments and submissions

If you post a comment, rating or message, you keep ownership of it, and you give us permission to display it on the site. Please keep comments respectful and on topic. We may remove comments that are abusive, unlawful, spam or off topic. Do not post personal information about other people.

Recipes, allergies and food safety

We test our recipes with care, but results depend on your ingredients, equipment and technique. Our allergen notes, such as “Contains” and “Free from”, are a guide only, and we cannot guarantee that a recipe is free from any allergen, including through cross-contamination or changes to a product’s ingredients. If you or anyone you cook for has an allergy or dietary restriction, it is your responsibility to check every ingredient label, to make sure the finished dish is free of any allergen or ingredient you need to avoid, and to follow safe food handling practices.

Links to other sites

The site links to other websites, including our Instagram account. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or practices. Visiting them is at your own risk.

Limits of liability

The site and its recipes are provided as they are, and we do not promise that the site will always be available or error free. Recipe results depend on the ingredients, equipment, oven or stove, measurements and techniques the cook uses, so we cannot guarantee that a recipe will turn out the same for you as it did for us. Ingredients also vary by brand, and manufacturers can change their products without notice, so we cannot guarantee that a recipe, or any ingredient in it, is free from allergens, gluten, dairy, meat or any other ingredient, even where a recipe is labelled that way. It is the responsibility of the person following a recipe to check every ingredient and make sure the finished dish is free of any allergen or ingredient they or anyone they serve needs to avoid. To the extent the law allows, The House of Taste is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for any harm arising from preparing or eating food made from our recipes. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer.

Governing law, changes and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Any dispute will be handled by the courts of Alberta.

We may update these terms from time to time. The effective date above shows the latest version, and orders are covered by the terms in place when you submitted the form.
